EMETROL is an oral solution containing balanced amounts of dextrose (glucose) and levulose (fructose) and phosphoric acid with controlled hydrogen ion concentration. Available in original lemon-mint or cherry flavor.
Active Ingredients: Each 5 mL teaspoonful contains dextrose (glucose), 1.87 g; levulose (fructose), 1.87 g; and phosphoric acid, 21.5 mg. Inactive Ingredients: glycerin, methylparaben, purified water; D&C Yellow No. 10 and natural lemon-mint flavor in lemon-mint Emetrol; FD&C Red No. 40 and artificial cherry flavor in cherry Emetrol.
Action EMETROL quickly relieves nausea by local action on the wall of the hyperactive G.I. tract.
For the relief of nausea due to upset stomach from intestinal flu and food or drink indiscretions. For other conditions, take only as directed by your physician.
Usual Adult Dose: One or two tablespoonfuls (1 tbsp equals 3 tsps). Repeat every 15 minutes until distress subsides.
Usual Children's Dose (2 to 12 years): One or two teaspoonfuls. Repeat dose every 15 minutes until distress subsides.
Important: For maximum effectiveness never dilute EMETROL or drink fluids of any kind immediately before or after taking a dose.
Caution: Not to be taken for more than one hour (5 doses) without consulting a physician. If upset stomach continues or recurs frequently, consult a physician promptly as it may be a sign of a serious condition.
Warning: This product contains fructose and should not be taken by persons with hereditary fructose intolerance (HFI).
As with any drug, if you are pregnant or nursing a baby, seek the advice of a health professional before using this product.
This product contains sugar and should not be taken by diabetics except under the advice and supervision of a physician.
