LACTAID® is the original dairy digestive supplement that makes milk more digestible. LACTAID® Drops may be added to milk for in vitro hydrolysis of lactose.
LACTAID® Drops contain sufficient lactase enzyme (derived from Kluyveromyces lactis ) to hydrolyze lactose in milk.
LACTAID® Drops are a liquid form of the natural lactase enzyme that makes milk more digestible. The lactase enzyme hydrolyzes the lactose sugar (a double sugar) into its simple sugar components, glucose and galactose.
Lactaid contains a natural enzyme that helps break down lactose, the complex sugar found in dairy foods. If not properly digested, lactose can cause gas, bloating, cramps or diarrhea. *

Add 5-7 drops of LACTAID® Drops to a quart of milk, shake gently and refrigerate for 24 hours. Because sensitivity to lactose can vary, you may have to adjust the number of drops you use. If you are still experiencing discomfort after consuming milk with 5-7 LACTAID® Drops per quart, you may want to add 10 or even 15 drops per quart. Lactaid may be used with any kind of milk: whole, 1%, 2%, non-fat, skim, powdered and chocolate milk.
