NIFEREX Film Coated Tablets contain 50 mg elemental iron. Each 5 mL (teaspoonful) NIFEREX Elixir contains 100 mg elemental iron.
Each tablet also contains as inactive ingredients: Castor Oil, Hydroxypropyl Cellulose, FD&C Blue #1 Aluminum Lake, FD&C Red #40 Aluminum Lake, FD&C Yellow #6 Aluminum Lake, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Lactose, Magnesium Stearate, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Pharmaceutical Glaze, Polyethylene Glycol, Povidone, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Starch Glycolate, Titanium Dioxide.
The elixir also contains as inactive ingredients: Alcohol 10%, Flavor, Hydrochloric Acid, Purified Water, Sorbitol. May also contain: Sodium Hydroxide.
For treatment of uncomplicated iron deficiency anemias.

Adults: 1 or 2 tablets twice daily, or 1 or 2 teaspoonfuls elixir daily. Pediatric patients age 6 and older: 1 or 2 tablets daily, or 1 teaspoonful elixir daily; under 6 years of age, as directed by a physician.
