SURFAK®, a stool softener, is indicated for the relief of occasional constipation. SURFAK is a convenient, once a day therapy, which provides gentle prevention and superior relief from the discomfort associated with passing stools related to trauma, lifestyle, or aging. It works gently by drawing water into the stool, making it softer and easier to pass. Regularity can be expected to return in 12 to 72 hours.

Active Ingredients:   Each soft gelatin Liqui-Gel contains 240 mg docusate calcium.

Inactive Ingredients:   Also contains corn oil, FD&C Blue #1 and Red #40, gelatin, glycerin, parabens, sorbitol, and other ingredients.

Dosage and Administration:   Adults and children 12 years of age and over: one capsule by mouth daily for several days or until bowel movements are normal. For use in children under 12, consult a physician.

:   Do not use laxative products when abdominal pain, nausea, or vomiting are present unless directed by a doctor. If you have noticed a sudden change in bowel habits that persists over a period of 2 weeks, consult a doctor before using a laxative. Laxative products should not be used for a period longer than 1 week unless directed by a doctor. Rectal bleeding or failure to have a bowel movement after use of a laxative may indicate a serious condition. Discontinue use and consult your doctor. Keep this and all drugs out of the reach of children. In case of accidental overdose, seek professional assistance or contact a Poison Control Center immediately. As with any drug, if you are pregnant or nursing a baby, seek the advice of a health professional before using this product.

Drug Interaction Precaution:   Do not take this product if you are presently taking mineral oil, unless directed by a doctor.

How Supplied:   Red soft gelatin capsules in packages of 10, 30 and 100 and Unit Dose 100s (10 × 10 strips).
